The Children's Center at Groton is nestled on the edge of the quiet and beautiful campus of Groton School.
To keep everyone as safe as possible, we cannot give in person tours at this time. Click through these photos for a virtual tour of our building.

Notice that the environment is designed with plenty of room for toddlers to move around and access the various interest areas. Provocations (invitations to play) are set up on the tables. A variety of materials are displayed on the shelves for children to use during choice times.

We believe in process oriented art-- we love to get messy!

Sprouts rest on cots, with a sheet and blanket provided from home.

We have many siblings-- sometimes they get to visit each other!

We go out in all weather! We believe there is no bad weather, only bad clothing.

Lily Bud Question of the Day
Each morning the Lily Buds begin their day by answering the ‘question of the day.’ This routine helps the children transition into the classroom and serves as a starting point for conversation at morning meeting later in the day.

By springtime, the morning question shifts to require early writing and drawing skills.

Welcome to the Peace Lily Classroom!
Our Peace Lily (PreK) class typically has 20 children with 3 full time teachers. Children are between 4 and 6 as of September.

Lily Bud & Peace Lily Playground
The Preschool and PreK classes share a large playground space. At this time only one class uses the playground at a time.
